As the Ignes Ogbonna Female Football Competition nears its grand finale, the stage is set for a thrilling conclusion with Atani ready to face Obinkita in the finals on Sunday, September 15, 2024. This follows Atani’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ibom in the semi-final match held on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The semi-final match between Atani and Ibom was fiercely contested, with both teams showcasing their talents and determination. Agbagwu suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat in their semi-final match on Sunday, September 1, 2024, which ended their hopes of reaching the final. However, the battle for third place still offers a significant prize of ₦300,000, giving both Ibom and Agbagwu strong motivation to fight for victory.

Hon. Ifeanyi Ogbonna has broken a long-standing jinx by becoming the first individual to host Arochukwu’s first-ever female football competition. His efforts have fostered a sense of community and pride among the villages, and for that, he has earned the deep gratitude of the Aros.
