The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has released the list of successful candidates for the 2025 teachers recruitment exercise. In an official statement signed by the Recruitment Committee on behalf of the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi, applicants were advised to check their SMS or email notifications starting from February 26, 2025. Candidates can verify their status using the phone number and email address provided during registration or by logging into the recruitment portal at www.mobse.abiastate.com

The statement further outlined the examination and posting procedures for shortlisted candidates. Applicants with NCE qualification will be posted to Primary Schools, where they will be tested in English Studies, Mathematics, and General Studies, while those with a Degree qualification will be assigned to Junior and Senior Secondary Schools, where they will be assessed in English Language, Mathematics, their chosen area of specialization, and one elective subject.

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations are scheduled to take place on March 5 and 6, 2025. All shortlisted candidates must print their exam photo cards at least 48 hours before their exam date, as the photo card will indicate their designated CBT center, batch, and exam schedule. The selection process will be based on cut-off marks set according to candidates’ performance, after which those who meet the required score will proceed to the oral interview stage. Candidates who pass the interview will then undergo a certificate verification process, where their academic credentials will be reviewed.

The statement also emphasized that candidates with inconsistent records will be disqualified at the verification stage and replaced by the next best-ranked candidate. Applicants are advised to adhere strictly to all instructions and complete the necessary steps within the given timeline to ensure a smooth selection process.
