Kogi Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has vowed to reveal evidence supporting her claim that Senate President Godswill Akpabio sexually harassed her—at what she describes as the “right time.”
She made the statement during a Channels TV interview on Thursday night, responding to Mr. Akpabio’s claim that she has no proof to substantiate the allegation.
“At the right time and in the right space, I will present the evidence that I have,” she said.
Efforts to reach Mr. Akpabio’s spokesperson, Aniete Ekong, for comment were unsuccessful, as messages sent via WhatsApp remained unanswered.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s remarks came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) dismissed a recall petition filed against her.
Her suspension from the Senate on February 28 followed accusations she made against Akpabio, alleging sexual harassment and abuse of office. The Senate cited “unruly conduct during plenary” as grounds for her six-month suspension, during which her salary was withheld and security detail withdrawn.
