Governor Alex Otti Begins Government House Reconstruction, Explains Public Welfare Prioritization for Initial Delay
“As an economics student, we applied the principle of prioritization. We sat down and acknowledged that while everything is important, some things take precedence over others.
“We did not consider the Government House to be more urgent than paying your salaries. Nor did we think it was more important than improving Primary Healthcare Centers.
“We also prioritized our schools and ensuring free basic education so that children, especially those who cannot afford it, have the same opportunities as others.
“We did not believe this place (Government House) should come before fixing dilapidated roads or renovating worn-out offices.
“So, we began with what we identified as the most critical needs. After addressing many of them, you can now see that work has started here,”
Governor Alex Otti stated during a Sabbath service at the Unity Chapel, Government House, Umuahia.
