Politics“I Have No Apologies for Supporting Tinubu” — Soludo

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s reforms, emphasizing his admiration for the bold economic and structural steps taken by the president. Despite political differences, Soludo, a former Central Bank governor, lauded Tinubu as both a political ally and personal friend of over two decades, reaffirming his commitment to their shared vision for Nigeria’s progress.

In a statement made at the State House in Abuja, Soludo emphasized the need for parties with progressive ideals to collaborate in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and fostering development. Reflecting on the past election season, he recalled Tinubu’s visit to Anambra and reiterated his call for progressives to unite for the country’s betterment.

On the issue of security in Anambra, Soludo highlighted the success of his administration’s “holistic” approach to combatting crime, combining both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies. The governor credited the enactment of the Anambra State Homeland Security Law in January with dismantling criminal networks in the region. As a result, many alleged criminal facilitators, including “deadly native doctors,” have fled the state.

Soludo also shared his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, stating that 5,000 young people have already been trained and empowered, with another 8,700 set to receive multi-billion-naira financial support. He outlined plans to create “several thousand youth millionaires” within his first three years in office.

In addition to creating opportunities for young people, Soludo assured that law enforcement, backed by intelligence gathering, would take a firm stand against criminals in the state, ensuring that public safety and security remain a top priority.
