Abia Constituents Hail Rep. Ibe Okwara Osonwa’s Scholarship Initiative

Residents of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency have commended their representative, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment through his scholarship initiative.

During a mock examination for prospective beneficiaries, community members expressed their appreciation, emphasizing that education is the bedrock of societal progress.

A prominent community leader from Ohafia, King Jaja, likened the initiative to the impactful Chief Arthur Nzeribe Education Foundation Scholarship of the 1980s, which changed his own life.

“Kudos! This reminds me of my time as a struggling student at Akanu Ohafia Secondary School. If not for a scholarship, I might have dropped out and taken a different path. Today, I am a proud product of UNN’s Mathematics Department and have contributed to organizations at home and abroad. More politicians should focus on human development in their politics,” he stated.

Prince Okorie from Arochukwu LGA underscored the importance of investing in youth, particularly given Nigeria’s security challenges.

“Rep. Ibe Okwara Osonwa has shown he truly cares for young people. Sponsoring students through university is a long-term investment in our future. This is the kind of leadership we need,” he said.

Mrs. Comfort Agbai from Abiriba commended the lawmaker for his consistency in youth development.

“Last year, he facilitated training in agribusiness, equipping young people with poultry farming skills. Now, he is sponsoring students’ education. His efforts in empowering our youth with sustainable tools are commendable,” she remarked.

Mr. Orji Ndukwe, an education advocate from Ohafia, described the scholarship as a game-changer for underprivileged students.

“Hon. Osonwa is ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder bright students from pursuing higher education. This initiative will change lives and inspire others to invest in education,” he noted.

Mrs. Nkechi Okoro from Ihechiowa highlighted the programme’s impact on struggling families.

“For many parents, sending their children to university seemed impossible. This scholarship has lifted a huge burden, and we can’t thank Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa enough,” she said emotionally.

Chief Philip Ijoma from Arochukwu urged other politicians to follow the lawmaker’s example.

“This is true leadership. Investing in education is investing in the future. If more politicians focused on human capital development like Hon. Osonwa, our society would be much better off,” he stated.

Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa’s scholarship initiative continues to receive widespread praise, reaffirming his dedication to the educational advancement of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
