Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price by ₦30, Announces Launch of CNG-Powered Trucks for Fuel Distribution

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from ₦850 to ₦820 per litre, effective from August 12, 2025. This adjustment was communicated in a statement by the refinery’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina.

The refinery reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria’s economic growth and national development, assuring the public of a continuous and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products. This price reduction follows the company’s recent increase in petrol prices to ₦850 per litre.

In a move aimed at further enhancing its operational efficiency, Dangote Petroleum Refinery also revealed plans to roll out 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for nationwide fuel distribution. The phased deployment of these trucks will begin on August 15, 2025.

The price adjustment and infrastructure improvements come as a step towards improving fuel supply logistics and creating more sustainable distribution channels across Nigeria.
