The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed recent reports claiming he collapsed, labeling them as baseless rumors.
Speculations that surfaced last week alleged that Wike suffered a partial stroke due to excessive alcohol consumption. However, addressing the matter, the minister clarified that while health challenges can affect anyone, he has not experienced any collapse as suggested by certain individuals.
Emphasizing his well-being, Wike reassured the public that he is in good health and has not suffered any medical emergency.
He further explained that the real reason for the attention surrounding him was linked to a recent incident involving a former head of service in Rivers State, as well as allegations of a plot to bomb the House of Assembly complex and attack national assets. According to him, the rumors about his health were deliberately spread to divert public attention from these serious issues.
Expressing gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, Wike urged the public not to wish ill upon others. He reminded everyone that while mortality is inevitable, only God determines when a person’s time will come.
Despite the circulating misinformation, he reaffirmed his commitment to his duties, stating that he remains focused and undistracted by false narratives.
