Gunmen Allegedly Abduct High-Profile Individual in Abia State
A high-profile individual, identified as Chief Lawson, was allegedly abducted by gunmen who ambushed his convoy along the Azumini-Ndoki Road in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State on Tuesday.
According to reports from *Eons Intelligence*, the assailants allegedly shot at his driver before seizing Chief Lawson. The police escort assigned to him—Sergeant Jude Gubi, ASP Tanko Natip, and Inspector Ernest—was reportedly returning to Port Harcourt from Arochukwu when they were attacked around 7:00 p.m. at Mkapjekere Ndoki.
Sources indicate that the attackers, traveling in a dark blue Sienna, allegedly blocked the convoy, which consisted of a black Land Cruiser (registration number KPR 627 TH) and a white Toyota Hilux (registration number YAB 115 CE), before opening fire. The police officers reportedly engaged the gunmen in a gun battle.
It was further alleged that the attackers ordered the VIP to enter their vehicle, but when he refused, they shot both him and his driver before forcibly taking them away.
Security agencies have intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the victims’ release.
