Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation Flags Off Third Phase of Empowerment For The Year 2025 With Tricycles and Motorcycles Across Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs.

In another remarkable stride towards economic empowerment and poverty alleviation, the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation has successfully completed the third phase of its empowerment program for the year 2025, distributing tricycles and motorcycles to beneficiaries from various communities across all Clans in Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas.
The event took place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the foundation’s headquarters, No. 1 Barr. Oscar C. Okoro Avenue, by Jumbo Offor Avenue, Ibom Barracks, Arochukwu, Abia State. This phase of the empowerment project witnessed a large turnout of community members, leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to witness the life-changing distribution exercise.
Founded with a mission to alleviate suffering, empower communities, and promote lasting change, the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation has continued to touch lives across Abia State. From providing scholarships to supporting healthcare, the Foundation has remained steadfast in improving lives and providing platforms for self-reliance.
The latest empowerment program focused on distributing tricycles and motorcycles, equipping recipients with tools to support transportation-based businesses and boost household income. The selection of beneficiaries, according to the Foundation’s Director General, Engr. Uche Adimoha, was done randomly across all clans in Arochukwu and Ohafia, with a keen focus on individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the Foundation’s vision.
Some of the beneficiaries include:
• Mr Mbaka Okonkwo from Abam received a tricycle and expressed deep gratitude, saying: “This is more than just a Keke; it is a tool for survival. I can now provide for my family with dignity.”
• Okore Kalu from Ututu, also a tricycle beneficiary, noted: Today, I received not just a vehicle but a new beginning.”
• Henry Obasi from Isu described the gesture as a divine intervention: “I never imagined I would own a brand new Keke this year. The Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation has made the impossible possible.”
On the motorcycle list:
• Emeka Agwu from Ohafia said: “I plan to start a delivery business immediately. This motorcycle is a game-changer.”
• Kingsley Okorie from Ohafia thanked the Foundation for their support and added: “This support came when I needed it most. God bless the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation.”
Others hailed from Abiriba, Nkporo, and several other communities, making it a truly inclusive and impactful exercise.
As part of the initiative, beneficiaries also received vehicle maintenance and safety training, as well as entrepreneurship and business skills training, to ensure sustainability and long-term impact.
According to the Foundation’s DG, the overarching goal remains to “break the cycle of poverty, empower minds, and strengthen communities”, with more programs lined up in the coming months.
With initiatives like this, the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation continues to stand out as a beacon of hope and a driving force for community development, economic empowerment, and social transformation in Abia State.
