In a remarkable step toward enhancing healthcare in Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the First Lady of the state, has unveiled a two-kilowatt solar power installation at the Amuvi Primary Health Centre, located in the Arochukwu Local Government Area. This project marks a significant milestone in her commitment to sustainable healthcare and energy solutions.

At the event, Mrs. Otti passionately encouraged local residents to rally behind efforts to integrate renewable energy into healthcare, emphasizing its role in improving service delivery. “This solar power system represents more than just light – it symbolizes a brighter future for healthcare and a path to better health for the people of Amuvi,” she declared.

The project is a key component of her flagship initiative, the Safe Tent Care Program, in partnership with the Office of the Wife of the Governor, supported by the Rachisols Foundation, and executed by TUDO Energy.

Mrs. Otti highlighted the critical importance of reliable energy for the operation of medical equipment, the safe storage of vaccines, and the overall enhancement of healthcare services. She reaffirmed her dedication to supporting Governor Alex Otti’s mission of transformative governance, especially in the health sector.

In her address, she expressed her gratitude to TUDO Energy and the Rachisols Foundation for their invaluable contributions, describing their involvement as a significant boost to the well-being of the people of Abia State.

UNICEF’s Chief of Field Office in Enugu, Mrs. Juliet Chiluwe, commended the initiative, praising the Governor and his wife for their focus on strengthening healthcare in the state. She reiterated UNICEF’s ongoing support to ensure the sustainable management of Abia’s healthcare infrastructure.

Dr. Enoch Uche, the State Commissioner for Health, recognized Mrs. Otti’s efforts in complementing the government’s broader solarization program for primary healthcare centers. Mrs. Maureen Aghukwa, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, and Dr. Kalu Ulu Kalu, the Executive Secretary of the Abia State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, both expressed appreciation for the project, highlighting its positive impact on the Amuvi community.

TUDO Energy’s CEO, Mr. Toye Dudu, and Rachisols Foundation’s representative, Mrs. Sybiath Ajao, pledged to continue their collaboration with the Otti administration, emphasizing their dedication to working with leaders committed to effective governance and development.

The commissioning event also included the distribution of gifts to nursing mothers, further reinforcing the event’s focus on community welfare. Government officials, community leaders, and other dignitaries attended the occasion, celebrating this pivotal moment in Abia’s healthcare journey.
