A concerned Abam youth, Emeka Baron, has raised pointed questions for Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole, former member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, over his eight-year record in office, as Nkole positions himself for a Senate run in 2027.
In a post shared on Facebook titled “Uko Nkole For Senate 2027: What Is He Coming To Tell Umu Abam Onyerubi Again?” Baron wrote, “Charity begins at home. Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole. As 2027 draws closer, we hear Uko Nkole for Senate. It’s a welcome development. But as an Abam son, I have simple questions for my leader, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole.”
He continued, “Sir, you represented Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency for 8 years. In those 8 years, what is your message for Umu Abam Onyerubi now? Abam Onyerubi has been in darkness for over 10 years. This darkness passed through your own tenure. What did you do about it then, and what are you coming to tell us about it now?”
Baron pressed further on the lawmaker’s legacy in his home community, asking, “In your 8 years, what project can Abam Onyerubi point to as your footprint? Where is your record in Abam? We gave you our votes, our support, our loyalty. What will you tell our mothers who still live in darkness? What will you tell our youths who saw no empowerment?”
He clarified that the questions were not intended as hostility toward the former lawmaker, writing, “This is not an attack sir, these are honest questions from your children in Abam.”
Baron also linked Nkole’s home record to his Senate ambition, writing, “If you want to go to the Senate to represent Abia North, Abam Onyerubi is your home. Charity begins at home. What is your scorecard at home? Before you tell Abia North what you will do, can you tell Umu Abam Onyerubi what you did? We are waiting to hear you, sir.”
He signed off the post as “Emeka Baron, Concerned Abam Youth.”
Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole represented Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He is now the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Abia North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election, joining a field that includes incumbent Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the APC, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex) of the Labour Party, and Okoronkwo Ikechukwu Bishop Godswill of the ADC.
