I Live in the Moment, Not 2027” – Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Opens Up on Her Political Future
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has shared her perspective on future political ambitions, emphasizing that while she has dreams and aspirations, her focus remains firmly on the present.
In an exclusive interview with Channels TV (Fast forward to 19:39), the senator addressed rising speculations about her plans for the 2027 elections. She explained that any decisions regarding her political future will be made only after careful consultations with her family, community, and close associates.
“I believe in the power of now. I celebrate the moment and live each day in trust. While I pray to live a long and fulfilled life, I’m aware that life is uncertain. I might not even be alive by 2027,” she said, expressing a deep sense of humility and self-awareness.
The conversation was sparked by a poster recently circulated by her media team, hinting at her political ambition beyond 2027. While Senator Natasha described the poster as “futuristic, ambitious, and daring,” she made it clear that her current focus is on delivering quality representation to the people of Kogi Central.
When asked if she intends to return to the Senate or aim for a higher office, she remained noncommittal.
“2027 will be determined based on consultations—first with my husband, children, family, associates, and of course, my community. If they say, ‘Natasha, go ahead,’ I will. If they ask me to raise the bar and expand my political reach, I’ll do just that,” she said.
Senator Natasha also acknowledged the growing support from her constituents, with many expressing confidence in her ability to challenge and defeat strong political figures. She attributed her rising popularity to her consistent engagement with the people and her commitment to education and empowerment.
“I’m seeing a new kind of followership—people who believe leadership can improve and that their active participation can positively shape Nigeria’s political landscape,” she added.
As the 2027 political season begins to stir, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s thoughtful and grounded approach is winning hearts across Kogi and beyond.
