A 29-year-old Lagos businessman, Ahmed Ajibade, has been arrested and charged with breaking into a woman’s apartment and sexually assaulting her. According to police reports, the incident occurred on April 29, 2025, at 171 Prince Oniru Ademola Street, Oniru, Lekki.

Ajibade is accused of unlawfully entering the residence of Miss Pedro, where he allegedly touched her breasts and other private parts without her consent. He is also accused of attempting to remove her clothing before she screamed for help. Neighbors, hearing her cries, intervened, restrained the suspect, and alerted the Divisional Police Officer of Maroko Division, CSP Raji Ganiyu. Police officers arrived at the scene and took Ajibade into custody.

Following investigations by Inspector Racheal Anthony, Ajibade was charged with two counts related to forcible entry and sexual assault at the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Tinubu, Lagos Island. Prosecutor Cyriacus Osuji stated that the defendant’s actions violated Sections 264(1)(2) and 263(1)(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Ajibade pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Chief Magistrate Mrs. Gbajumo Ayoku granted Ajibade bail in the amount of ₦300,000 with two sureties of similar value and ordered his remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility until the bail conditions are met. The case has been adjourned to May 7, 2025, for further proceedings.
