In his declaration speech, Dr. Nto positioned himself as a unifying figureโโa bridge between the rich and the poor, between technocrats and politicians, and between the old and the young.โ Emphasizing his track record in human capital development, he reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the people of Abia North, particularly the underserved and vulnerable. According to him, his aspiration is rooted in service: to be โthe voice of the voicelessโ and to represent those struggling to meet basic needs.
He further pledged inclusive leadership, promising continuous consultation with constituents in all decision-making processes. Highlighting the importance of equity and fairness in political representation, Dr. Nto referenced the rotational dynamics within Abia North, noting that Arochukwu had only held the position briefly compared to other areas. In what he described as a commitment to justice and balance, he stated his intention to complete Arochukwuโs tenure in the spirit of equity.
In a strategic political note, Dr. Nto also called for increased pressure on Hon. Ben Kalu to consider contesting for the governorship, while encouraging unwavering support for the Presidentโs reelection bid. He concluded his speech with a confident declaration: โAbuja, here we come.โ
Speakers at the event echoed strong confidence in Dr. Ntoโs candidacy. Adding a moral and spiritual dimension, Rev. Ama Nwankwo noted that Dr. Ntoโs candidacy was a response to a collective call from the people. He likened the moment to a biblical calling, stating that just as God sought someone to send, Dr. Nto had stepped forward in service to his people. He also commended Ntoโs outstanding tenure at ASCETA, describing it as evidence of his leadership competence.
