Abia State Treats Federal and State Projects Equally – Governor Otti
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure across the state, regardless of whether projects fall under federal or state jurisdiction. Speaking at the Living Word Church in Aba, the governor emphasized that his government prioritizes the welfare of Abians over bureaucratic distinctions.
“We do not differentiate between federal and state-owned projects; our focus is on delivering benefits to the people,” Otti stated. He cited the ongoing rehabilitation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Bende Local Government Area as an example of his administration’s inclusive approach.
Highlighting key projects, Otti pointed to the reconstruction of Port Harcourt Road, the Ohafia-Arochukwu Road, and other federal roads within the state, stressing that infrastructure development remains a top priority.
Addressing concerns about borrowing, the governor assured citizens that while he is not against loans, his administration will only borrow when absolutely necessary. He reiterated his zero-tolerance stance on corruption and expressed gratitude to the church for its support and prayers.
The governor’s remarks come as Abia State prepares to implement its 2025 budget, which allocates 82% of funds to capital expenditure. With major infrastructure projects already underway, Otti’s administration is focused on transforming Abia State and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
