A man identified as Okwuluora has publicly appreciated Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for what he described as the Governor’s intervention in covering medical bills totaling over N40 million for a young girl, Chisom Mbakwe, who is battling chronic kidney failure.
In a post shared on Facebook, Okwuluora wrote, “N22,000,000 & now N18,200,000 for POST Transplant Medication to Chisom Mbakwe. Thank you Alex C. Otti for this KINDNESS. Thank you for taking this burden OFF my shoulder.” He added, “I was also informed that you have guaranteed her employment. Thank you again Mr. Governor.”
In an accompanying video, Okwuluora, who said he is from Enugu State, gave a fuller account of how he came to be involved in the case. “Some time ago, I came to Umuahia, I saw a little girl who is suffering chronic kidney failure. I raised a lot of money for her, but it wasn’t enough. The family told me that you gave them 22 million naira,” he said.
He said he continued fundraising efforts after that, but the need persisted. “She came back to me, I raised another money, it wasn’t enough. She needs money, 18.2 million naira for her post-transplant medication. And the family confirmed to me today, 6th of September, 2026, that your office, the Executive Governor of Abia State, paid 18.2 million naira again. Adding to 22 million, over 40 million naira,” he said.
He closed the video with an appreciation message directed at the Governor. “Dear Governor of Abia State, may you live long. For carrying and listening to the plight of poor people, may God place you higher than the position of Governor of Abia State. Thank you for redefining politics and governance in Abia State,” he said.
