The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Arochukwu State Constituency, Mrs Francess Olisa Ogbonnaya, popularly known as Tabitha, has outlined her vision for the constituency ahead of the 2027 general election, presenting herself as what her campaign describes as “a complete package for people-oriented representation.”
In a statement released by her media team, the campaign said, “In an election involving an incumbent or others who have previously held political positions, there is no doubt that they may have made contributions in some areas. But Arochukwu can aspire to more.”
The statement described a vote for Tabitha as “a vote for equity, women’s inclusion, youth inclusion, competence, intellectual representation, relatable legislation, empowerment, eloquence, humility, honesty, diligence and effective oversight.”
According to the campaign, Tabitha’s vision is centred on bridging the gap between the constituency’s communities and the state government. “Tabitha’s vision is to help bridge the gap between the people of Isu, Ututu, Ihechiowa, Abam, Aro Okeigbo and the State Government, ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of our communities receive meaningful representation. She believes representation should go beyond waiting for the State government alone to provide solutions,” the statement read.
The campaign further outlined specific areas where Tabitha intends to pursue partnerships and advocacy if elected, including scholarship opportunities and educational partnerships for Arochukwu students, skills acquisition and empowerment initiatives for Arochukwu youths, and partnerships to support market women and small-scale entrepreneurs with access to grants and other opportunities.
The statement added that Tabitha has “undertaken empowerment initiatives in her private capacity” and said she is “committed to bringing that spirit of service into public representation.”
The campaign closed with an appeal to voters ahead of the election, stating, “Let’s vote for a complete package on 6th February 2027,” under the slogan “Arochukwu First, the People Always.”
Tabitha is one of at least three candidates now in contention for the Arochukwu State Constituency seat ahead of 2027, alongside the incumbent, Hon. Uchenna Okoro Kalu of the Labour Party, and Prince Ike Okorafor of the All Progressives Congress.
