In a transformative move to combat youth unemployment, drug abuse, and economic hardship, the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation, in collaboration with Kayroy Nigeria Limited and the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), has successfully trained and empowered 350 individuals across Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas, with each beneficiary receiving a N50,000 cash grant.

The impactful event, held on the 6th of April 2025, took place at No. 1 Barr. Oscar Okoro Avenue, Off Jombo Offor Avenue, Arochukwu, and featured two key sessions:

1. Sensitisation Programme for Women and Youths on Drug Abuse in Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs.

2. Training and Empowerment of Youths Across Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs.

Facilitators for the program were drawn from Abuja, bringing national-level experience and expertise to empower the local participants with practical tools and valuable knowledge.

The highlight of the event came during the empowerment phase, where all 350 selected beneficiaries received N50,000 each to support their small businesses, skill acquisition, or education.

Speaking at the event, a representative of the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation, Engr. Uche Adimoha (Director General), emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to transforming lives at the grassroots:

“This is not just about giving out money. It is about restoring dignity, promoting self-reliance, and encouraging our people to believe in a better tomorrow. At the Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation, we are committed to empowering minds and redefining the narrative of poor leadership in our communities.”

One of the participants, Rev. Patience Anthony Okeke from Ututu, received a Certificates of Participation for taking part in the trainings and expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity.

Another excited beneficiary said:

“This N50,000 means so much to me. I plan to use it to support my tailoring business and help my family. God bless the Foundation and their partners.”

The Oscar Chukwuma Okoro Foundation, known for its humanitarian and empowerment-driven initiatives, continues to set the pace in community transformation, especially in underserved and rural areas. With projects like this, the Foundation has proven once again that meaningful change is possible when compassion meets action.
