It is with great distinction that we introduce His Royal Majesty, Eze Mazi Godwin Kanu Idei Kanu Okoro Oke, who ascended to the esteemed position of the 9th Eze Aro on the 20th of October, 2023.
Born on the 9th of February, 1966, to the illustrious lineage of Mazi Prince Sampson Kanu Idei, he proudly carries the legacy of his forefathers, being the grandson of Mazi Idei Kanu and the great-grandson of Mazi Kanu Okoro Oke.
HRM Eze Mazi Godwin Kanu Idei embarked on his educational journey at Ziks Avenue Primary School in Uwani, Enugu. Following the successful completion of his primary education, he furthered his academic pursuits at Aggrey Memorial Secondary School in Arochukwu, Abia State, and later graduated from Methodist College in Uzuakoli, Abia State. His academic excellence earned him admission to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he studied Estate Management, ultimately graduating in 1992. Subsequently, he was called to serve in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Sagamu, Ogun State in 1993.
His Majesty ventured abroad, contributing his expertise as a Facility Manager and Estate Development Consultant in Europe, South Africa, and Asia. His exceptional proficiency in these areas marked him as a leader in his field, and he consistently strove to enhance his skill set.
Furthermore, HRM Eze Godwin Kanu Idei extended his knowledge and influence to Brazil, where he assumed a part-time lecturing position at Fisk International College, Cidade Nova, Manaus Amazona. Simultaneously, he engaged in the property business, all while carrying the aspirations of his homeland within him.
His vision for Arochukwu is one characterized by the principles of truth and equity. He aspires to collaborate with both the public and private sectors to drive development, emphasizing transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness during his tenure as the 9th Eze of Arochukwu Kingdom.
Beyond his royal duties, His Royal Majesty Eze Godwin Kanu Idei Kanu Okoro Oke harbors a passion for basketball and lawn tennis. Additionally, he is a father of two sons.
