Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District, has expressed his commitment to collaborating with the Agricbusiness Incubation Centre at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, to train and empower youths.

Senator Abaribe emphasized the importance of redirecting youths towards agribusiness and other skill acquisition programs to secure their future in contemporary Nigeria.

During a meeting in his office at the National Assembly, Abuja, with Dr. Philips Nto, the Director of MOUAU Agricbusiness Incubation Centre, Senator Abaribe urged youths to embrace skills acquisition, particularly in agribusiness, to improve their economic prospects. He praised the initiative by MOUAU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Iwe, to establish the Centre and assured his support for its success.

Senator Abaribe expressed satisfaction that the Centre’s goal of training youths in various aspects of agribusiness aligns with his own youth empowerment initiatives. He commended Dr. Philips Nto for informing him about the Centre’s establishment and encouraged the University to maintain the program.

Dr. Philips Nto, in his earlier remarks, stated that he visited Senator Abaribe to seek his assistance in training Abia youths in agribusiness. He emphasized Abaribe’s crucial role as a stakeholder, especially in recommending his youthful constituents for training and empowerment. Dr. Nto highlighted MOUAU Vice Chancellor’s desire for Abia youths to benefit from the Centre’s programs, hence the visit to Senator Abaribe.
