During a one-day visit to Anambra State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a light-hearted but symbolic request to Governor Chukwuma Soludo—asking for a plot of land in the state to build his retirement home.
Speaking at a town hall meeting held as part of the visit to commission state-executed projects, President Tinubu addressed the people of Anambra with warmth and humor. Referring to himself as a “bona-fide son of Anambra,” he urged Governor Soludo to secure a piece of land for him, which he described as his “permanent abode” after his time at the Presidential Villa.
“You don’t have to move me from the Villa for only one week, give me a permanent abode,” Tinubu said, commending the state’s development efforts and expressing deep admiration for the progress made under Soludo’s leadership.
In his response, Governor Soludo pledged his administration’s continued support for President Tinubu’s government. He emphasized that APGA, the ruling party in Anambra, had resolved to cooperate with any government at the federal level, adding that his support would continue through to the end of Tinubu’s tenure in 2031.
President Tinubu ended his remarks with a message of hope and unity, assuring the people of Anambra that the country would overcome its current challenges. “This country is blessed and Anambra is part of it. Anambra is rising and we will rise together,” he said.
